ONE/ONE MENTORSHIP SESSIONS

Qualifications for One/One services:

Unbridled provides services FREE to all at-risk, disadvantaged, or disabled youth ages 6-18.  All one/one services are designed for children who have been referred by DHS case managers, child or family therapists, teachers or school staff, pediatrician, pastors or other agencies able to identify youth in crisis or overcoming traumas.

What are One/One Mentorship Sessions?

Our 90-minute mentorship sessions utilize faith-based Equine Assisted Learning and Activities (EAL/EAA). These mentorship sessions are designed to support our community’s most vulnerable children as well as their families. In partnership with the child’s counseling team, teachers, family, and other support workers, mentors carefully cultivate deep and meaningful connections to the mentee, while utilizing an Equine Partner. Each child receives 9 months of one/one services then graduates to an age/skill appropriate group where they continue their deep relationship with their Mentor, while applying newly acquired skills to a group atmosphere.

MENTORSHIP GROUPS

After a year of one-on-one sessions, children graduate into a group that fits their age and skill level. Groups are also open to children who do not meet the qualifications for one-on-one sessions. The groups foster friendships, teamwork, and communication. As they play and learn, the groups fill the barn with laughter and joy.

Free Rein: High School ages 14-18 or by placement.

Trail Blazers: Our middle school group for 6th-8th graders. Trail Blazers are proficient riders at walk/trot and learning to canter.

IMPART PROGRAM

Bring the whole family and enjoy your time at Unbridled while your child is in session. Impart team volunteers are available to assist you in making the most of your time on the ranch.  Whether it is jumping in to give an exhausted foster parent a break, playing with younger children so that parents can go for a peaceful walk along the creek, or being a listening ear, our wonderful team of volunteers are here for you. Through the help of this team Unbridled families connect to resources such as a food pantry and coat closet, as well as a valuable network of community partners who work together to help relieve the pressure many families experience.  Our beautiful natural setting provides a refreshing, relaxed environment for families to rest and be restored. With miles of hiking trails, hidden picnic benches along streams, vast expansive views as well as sheltered indoor areas filled with games, books, coloring, blocks and much more there is something for every member of the family. In addition, fun community activities bring families together, building life-long memories and deepening bonds.  Our team is here to pray, listen, play, and encourage you.
